At just eight years old, I was captivated by a story that would shape my understanding of history and humanity. I sat beside my father, eyes glued to the screen, as we watched "A Night to Remember," starring Kenneth More. The black-and-white film unfolded the tragic tale of the Titanic, a magnificent vessel that embodied human ingenuity and ambition. I was mesmerised by its grandeur, yet my young mind struggled to comprehend how something so beautifully crafted could meet such a catastrophic fate.
The haunting music score resonated deeply within me, especially the poignant moments when the band played on, bravely facing the inevitable. I remember the heart-wrenching image of a little boy lost on deck, desperately searching for his mother. The film painted a vivid picture of a microcosm of society—the wealthy mingling with the poor, all aboard this floating world, united in their dreams of a better life. It was a tapestry of human experience, woven together by hope and tragedy.
As the story unfolded, I was left with a profound question, how could a ship so vast and seemingly invincible succumb to the icy grip of an iceberg? The loss of life, the stories of loved ones choosing to stay together in their final moments, haunted me for years. I must have watched that film over a dozen times, and even now, at 70 years old, I find myself drawn back to it, each viewing revealing a new layer of mystery.
For over six decades, my fascination with the Titanic has only deepened. I immersed myself in countless films, documentaries, and survivor interviews, seeking to uncover the truth behind that fateful night. I visited exhibitions in Belfast, Cobh, and Cherbourg, each experience fuelling my desire to understand how a piece of history from 1912 continues to captivate hearts and minds of so many today.
In my quest for answers, I encountered a myriad of conspiracy theories and mainstream narratives, each claiming to unveil the truth. But who truly holds the key to what happened? Over the years, I have poured my heart and soul into this research, presenting my findings in poetic form. It is my hope that you will join me on this Titanic journey, inspired by my grandsons, who remind me of the importance of story telling.
My first book, "Bizarre Poetic World of Malcolm Tilsed," taught me invaluable lessons, and I am excited to share what I believe is a significant piece of history in the making with "Titanic Conspiracy Beneath the Waves."
None of us were alive in 1912, and as time passes, facts can blur into fiction. The internet is flooded with information—much like the water that poured into the Titanic, some of the information is true, some misleading, For every argument, there is a counter argument, and it’s up to us to sift through the noise and discern the real truth behind the sinking of this iconic ship.
As you embark on this journey through my words, I invite you to reflect on the stories of those who may have been related to you, who lived through that tragic event. Your grandparents and great-grandparents likely read about it, and now, you hold a piece of that history in your hands.
I hope you enjoy this exploration of the Titanic, and may it inspire you to seek the truth in your own life. Coming Soon!!!
